A fun — and useful — game to play with Google searches

Here’s a fun game to play. Hop on to Google and let it try to guess what you’re searching for. The results can either be hilarious, disturbing or a little bit of both. In the spirit of this game, we decided to see if it had any practical applications for websites. We typed “My website is” into the search bar and these are the suggestions Google gave us:

    My website is down
One of the most common reasons for a website to go down is a coding error. Bad coding can cause a lot of headaches because there are millions of lines of code that go into making a website, and one simple mistake could shut down the whole website. With so many lines of code, there’s a lot of room for error, and it’s bound to happen sometime. If your website goes down, give us a call and we can help get you back online as quickly as possible.

    My website is slow
The number one perpetrators of slow websites are photos. Most photos on websites are unnecessarily large or their resolution is too high. Another culprit is bulky and useless code. This can be fixed by talking to your web developer. A few simple changes can make a big difference.

My website is not showing up in Google
This is a search engine optimization problem. The best way to fix this problem is to embed certain key words into your website.

    My website is not loading
To make sure we clear this one up: check the Internet connection. When your Internet connection is down or slow, it can cause websites to not load properly. Another thing to try is switching web browsers. If both of these things are fine, there could be a problem with the hosting server. Give your web developer a call or, if you know who to contact, get in touch with the web hosting company.

These were just a few of the top Google-searched phrases about websites. Let us know what funny or insightful results you get when you try it.
